Reviews

I purchased an LX7 largely to replace a DSLR. Yeah, good luck with that, eh? But the camera has an enormous array of features and functions, that was clear from reviews I had read. The pdf manual that comes with the camera proved to be wholly inadequate. For example, although the camera has a standard 24-90 mm zoom range, there are several zoom options that let you reach much greater zoom levels, each option has its limitations and advantages. This guide helps explain the pros and cons of these options.I have to say that after only a few days with this guide and my camera, I have found and explored a number of different camera settings that I am convinced will enhance my photo taking. After 30 years of using SLRs, DSLRs and a few ILCs, I am not a wholly unlearned camera user. But this guide has cleared up many of the special features of the LX7 for me and I expect that it will continue to do so as I explore it further. It is well illustrated with images of the camera's screen so that you can see the camera settings and menus as the author discusses them. At times it seems there are too many internal cross-references, but that is understandable given the depth of the author's coverage of features. The alternative would be interminable footnotes like a legal brief might contain.Highly recommended to get the most out of your camera. The digital version is quite good and a relative bargain at $9.99.
